Concrete resurfacing is not simply hiding damage. A useful plan starts by identifying why the surface looks worn and whether the concrete is suitable for a bonded finish. Mechanical preparation removes weak surface material and creates a profile for the compatible repair and coating system. Appropriate cracks, pits, and small damaged areas can then be treated as part of the preparation. The final surface may be decorative or understated depending on the location and use.

Honest assessment matters

Some concrete conditions are cosmetic; others involve active movement, structural problems, or moisture that a coating cannot solve. Those limitations should be identified early. The goal is a project-specific recommendation—not covering every slab at any cost.

WHAT TO KNOW.

Can every cracked slab be resurfaced?+

No. Appropriate surface cracks may be treated, but active movement, settlement, structural damage, or significant moisture can require other solutions. An assessment determines suitability.

Will repaired cracks disappear forever?+

Repairs can improve the surface, but concrete can continue to move and some cracks may reflect through over time. We explain the visible conditions and realistic expectations.

Do old coatings need to be removed?+

Failing or incompatible material generally needs to be addressed during preparation. The extent depends on adhesion, contamination, and the proposed new system.

Is resurfacing the same as replacement?+

No. Resurfacing improves the existing surface when the slab is suitable; it does not replace structurally unsound concrete or correct every underlying condition.
